Humanity is facing a lot of challenges on our precious planet and just like many other organizations, Motherland is going to actively work on improving the situation for as many living systems as possible. We could not do this without all of you and we are very excited to introduce our new team members!
Our pilot in Siaya County in Kenya is set to commence in January 2023. We have an amazing team on the ground that is very passionate and ideal to helping Motherland achieve its goals of accelerating the development of communities by systematically understanding their unique challenges. We are confident that with this team in place and the support of our partners, our pilot will be a success and set the stage for a wider rollout of the program throughout Africa.
Sylvester Catherine is a 27-year-old Psychologist from Kenya who strongly believes that the purpose of human life is to serve and to show compassion and the will to help. She is a liberal, feminist, and humanitarian who has worked with individuals from underprivileged groups, encouraging, supporting, and providing them with guidance and chances to initiate social change and transform their own communities. She has worked with individuals and communities championing the betterment of their mental health and improvement of quality of life in all aspects.She is very enthusiastic about being part of the Motherland team because the main thing that provides meaning in her life is ensuring the well-being of people. She thrives at making a positive change, however small, and improving the lives of individuals and communities to create a good world and a sustainable community in whichever way she can.
Violet Atieno, is a 25-year-old Environmentalist from Siaya. She is deeply passionate about protecting the natural world and promoting sustainable living. Violet has a degree in Environmental Science and has worked with various organizations to promote conservation and sustainability. She believes that by working together and using our resources responsibly, we can create a better future for all. Violet is excited to be a part of the Motherland team and creating a more sustainable and prosperous community in Siaya. She believes that by working directly with local communities and supporting their ideas, we can create positive change.
Nicholas Siso is a 29-year-old with a degree in agronomy. He is very passionate about agriculture and climate change. He sees agriculture as one of the forces for good in his community. He has a background in agribusiness and has worked with various organizations to create sustainable solutions for social and environmental issues. He believes that with the right support and resources, local communities have the potential to drive their own development and create lasting change. Siso is excited to be a part of the Motherland team and work towards improving the lives of the people in Siaya. He believes that by empowering local communities and supporting their ideas, we can create a more vibrant and sustainable community.
